Day 1: Cusco – Santa Maria – Santa Teresa
At 4:30 am we come pick you up from your hotel. We are travelling through the Sacred Valley of the Inkas, crossing the highest point at Abra Málaga (4350 meters), where we could appreciate some beautiful snowy peaks. We then descend through the jungle to Santa Maria, to get our breakfast.

We start the trek at 9 am following an original Inca trail which had long been lost in the dense rainforest: the Inca Trail on this route shows very well preserved Inca art. You also have the opportunity to observe the "Willcamayuc" Vilcanota River, Sacred River of the Incas, before we move deeper into the jungle and discover the sacred leaves of the Incas (legally grown with authorization of the Peruvian government), or the abundant coffee and exotic fruits surrounding us such as mangos, pineapples, oranges, avocados, or even the various medicinal plants and fauna of the area. We have our lunch in Qellomayo.

Once reenergized with great regional food, we move to the baths of Cocalmayo to enjoy the always appreciated warm water, and continue our journey to Santa Teresa to spend the night in a local accommodation.

Meals: Breakfast - Lunch - Tea Time - Dinner.

Day 2: Lucmabamba – Llactapata – Machupicchu Village
After an early morning transfer from Santa Teresa to Lucmabamba, we start the official Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Once we have reached the Archaeological site of Llactapata, we can see the Machupicchu just right in front of us. We then descend for 1 hour until getting to a beautiful waterfall.

We have lunch in Hidroelectrica and continue heading to Machu Picchu Pueblo passing through Mandor Waterfall, also known for its botanical gardens offering beautiful and colorful flowers. We arrive at Machu Picchu town to overnight in a comfortable hotel.

Optional: you can give an early night visit to the Aguas Calientes' Hot Springs where the entrance fee is US $4.

Meals: Breakfast - Lunch - Tea Time - Dinner.

Day 3: Sunrise over Machupicchu – Cusco
We have breakfast and then take the bus at 6 am up to get to Machu Picchu and enjoy the beautiful sunrise. It is followed with a walking tour of approximately 2 hours given by our knowledgeable tour guide, after which you can explore the enigmatic city all by yourselves.

If you had previously bought your Wayna Picchu ticket (additional cost of 15 dollars but only 200 persons allowed twice a day, first climbing session at 7 am followed by another one at 10 am, so it is highly recommended to book ahead) you can also climb the neighboring mountain (2720m/8890ft): it takes about 45 minutes to reach the top. But you might have to skip the tour and seriously reduce your own time on the site of Machu Picchu.

Once you are full of mystical vibes, we take the bus back to Aguas Calientes to get on the Expedition train back to Ollantaytambo followed by a bus to Cusco. We are in Cusco at around 10:30 pm.

Meals: Breakfast.
