DESCRIPTION:
Tambopata National Reserve is a nature reserve in the Peruvian Amazon Basin south of the Madre de Dios River in Tambopata Province'sInambari and Tambopata districts. It was created on January 26, 1990, to protect the forests adjacent to the rivers Heath and Tambopata that have two important ecosystems and are noted for its biodiversity, representing native flora and fauna with 165 species and 41 families of trees, 103 species of mammals, 1300 species of butterflies and 90 species of amphibians.
The reserve is located across the regions of Madre de Dios and Puno:


GEOGRAPHY
It has a superface area of 1,478,942 hectares (3,654,550 acres).
The Sandoval Lake is located in this area. There is also a circuit of canoeing which is considered one of the most exciting and beautiful circuit of Peru.
The protected area features eight life zones: subtropical humid forest, tropical humid forest, subtropical high-humidity forest, subtropical high-humidity foothills cloud forest, subtropical rainforest, tropical cloud forest foothills, subtropical lower foothills cloud forest and semi-flooded subtropical cloud forest.
Average annual temperature is 26°C, ranging from 10-38°C; with average annual rainfall of 1600–2400 mm. Rainfall in the protected area is typical of most areas in the Peruvian Amazon. The climate is humid and (3000 mm and 25°C on average), sub-level humidity. 

    TAMBOPATA JUNGLE AND ADVENTURE (Jungle 4 days 3 nights)

FIRST DAY MONKEY´S ISLAND

First day: Our transfer will pick you up from the  bus station. You’ll then go to office to register (passport number and flight number).breakfast not included Then we’ll take the boat down Madre de Dios Rver to get to our Lodge. After a one-hour boat ride, you’ll arrive at the Lodge where we’ll have relaxing morning.

After resting for a bit, and have lunch, we’ll go for a two-hour walk in the monkey´s island, which is jsut across from our Lodge. Our guide will tell you about the lush vegetation (some trees are 500 years old). You’ll also have the chance to see some birds, monkeys, butterflies. You’ll discover our wonderful jungle.

In the evening, you and our guide will go for a boat ride on Madre de Dios River to look for caimans. You’ll spot the shiny red eyes of the caimans with a flashlight.

Back at the Lodge you will be served dinner and sleep.



SECOND DAY SANDOVAL LAKE

We’ll wake up early to get to a tower, which is more than 20 meters high. From up there you’ll see different species of birds, such as macaws or parrots.

After breakfast, we’ll go to the Tambopata National Reserve. After walking in the jungle, you’ll discover the amazing Sandoval Lake. It’s a real wonder, where you’ll see a great variety of animals, such as birds, monkeys. After a box lunch, we’ll go for a boat ride on the lake to see the animals from closer. If it’s a lucky day, you might see giant otters (Animals in danger of extinction), later we’ll be on our way back to the Lodge at sunset.

Dinner and sleep.
 

THIRD DAY ADVENTURE

Third day: After breakfast, you’ll go for a short walk into the jungle for a challenge. You’ll be experiencing zip-lining, tree-climbing, etc… Of course, a specialist will be with you to tell you eve thing you need to know about security to experience a safe but exciting adventure! Feel the adrenaline!. After the lunch we will go to the river for kayak with our specialist guide, and then we will back to the lodge for dinner and sleep.


FOURTH DAY CHECK OUT
Fourth day: After breakfast you’ll return by motor boat around 08:00 am to Puerto Maldonado then you will be transferred to the airport. End of the service.
